Designed specifically for Native American students and teachers, this directory of educational books and A/V tools is quite extensive, though at the moment it is under construction and in dissarray. Includes a section called Big$ Baddie$, which examines popular children's books that many Native Americans find offensive, and provides reasoning behind objections to these books. The Centre for Children's Literature opened in Autumn 1998. It is situated at the Royal Danish School of Educational Studies in connection with the National Library of Education. It is the task of the Centre to "create the most favourable conditions for the production and dissemination of and research on literature for children and young people", as stated in the proposal submitted to the Ministry of Education in Spring 1998. The Arbeitskreis für Jugendliteratur has awarded the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis since 1956. Divided into 4 categories: Bildrebuch, Kinderbuch, Jungendbuch, Sachbuch. Nicely designed site gives information about the nominies in each category, including an annotation, the cover, and short biographies of author and illustrator.
