MATH 414/514 MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS II
Spring 2019
This course is the second course in a two semester sequence. All students must have successfully completed Math 413 prior to taking this course. In this course we will investigate the theoretical aspects and properties of inferential statistics; both estimation and hypothesis testing. Both classical procedures and Bayesian procedures will be studied.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: You are expected to attend all class meetings; however, your attendance will not be used in the computation of your grade. If you cannot be in class, it is your responsibility to get the class notes and assignments from a classmate, not from me via e-mail. After obtaining and reading these notes, you may come see me with any questions.REQUIREMENTS:

**Grading of boardwork:
Five problems should be done at the board will account 10% of your grade. Please be aware that boardwork will make a difference of one letter grade in your final grade. You should not do more than 2 problems per chapter of the text.

GRADING SCALE:
80 - 89 B
70 - 79 C
60 - 69 D
0 - 59 F
1. There will be no make-up quizzes.
2. Homework will not be accepted late.
3. There will be no make-ups on the tests except in extreme cases. If you miss a test because of an emergency, you need to see the instructor immediately. If a make-up exam is allowed, it will be at the time of the final exam. Documentation may be required.
4. All cell phones must be turned OFF during class time. NO TEXT MESSAGING!!!!! Cell phones are not to be used as calculators.
5. All students should have a calculator. Sharing of calculators during quizzes and tests is not allowed.
