Quick sneak peek at courses and why I enjoy teaching them

I teach Operations Management at the undergraduate level and Decision Making in the Supply Chain at the MBA level. The ideas we discuss in class are the same ones used by firms to save millions of dollars through better thinking and better decision making. I also teach Managerial Decision Support Systems with VBA. In this class we build business applications to perform analytics tasks for real-world companies. Personally, I enjoy teaching these courses because we get to work on solving complex real-world business problems and enhancing firm competitiveness. The ideas we use touch on many areas of business from marketing to management strategy to manufacturing. My research interests are also along these lines as I enjoy doing research that involve concepts from areas such as management decision making, statistics/business intelligence, and international operations/offshoring.

In 2014 I have been hard at work developing a class that focuses on the emerging technologies of 3D printing and the Internet of Things. Stay tuned!
