The
View From Saturday
Introduction | Task | Process | Resources
Just imagine that you and hundreds like you have just broken through your eggs and now you are trying to make it to the ocean. Maybe half of you will make it to the ocean and out of the few of you who make it to the ocean, only a fraction will survive!
Do you know who you are?
You are a sea turtle and you are just one of the many animals listed on the endangered species list. Most of the turtles do not survive because of the choices we as humans make.
Your task if you choose to accept it is to help promote awareness of the sea turtles and what we as humans can do to help them survive.
Your task is to create a "Virtual Museum" on sea turtles with the information you will collect from the list of websites below.
*You will first do you research on the sea turtles from the web sites listed below.
* Look for information on the different types of sea turtles and chose one species of the sea turtles to discuss in your "Virtual Museum".
*Find images and/or pictures to support the information on your sea turtle, that you will include in your "Virtual Museum".
**Some
questions to think about while conducting your research:
Where do sea turtles live?
What routes do they take during their lifetime?
What are their eating habits?
Why are they important to our environment?
Who and what are endangering the sea turtles?
What can be done to save the sea turtles?
What changes will occur if sea turtles were extinct?
* Once you find the information that you want to use, here are some tips on how to incorporate them into your "Virtual Museum":
Here
are some very helpful sites for gathering information for your "Virtual
Museum". Try to use all resources available on the subject of sea
turtles. Please use a minimum of FIVE internet sites, to create your
"Virtual Museum". Remember to give credit to the work of others,
that you might use in your project.
