Course Objective:
            This course is designed to foster an appreciation for various art, music, theatre and lecture experiences by attendance at campus cultural events.  This is a directed-study format where personal event choices must conform to three (3)categories - music, art, and lecture/performance.

Attendance Requirements:
            Attendance is required at the initial class meeting, 6 cultural events, and 2 discussion meetings to be determined later.  Presence at one (1) musical performance, one (1) art exhibit, and four (4) lectures or performances is documented by reaction papers.
        Spring Schedule of Events

Written Evaluation:
            For each cultural event attended, there is a required 2-page reaction paper due by the following Friday, plus a 2-page end of term summary paper to reflect on what was learned by attending these six events.  See website for reaction paper format.

            Art Reaction Paper

            Music Reaction Paper

            Lecture-Performance Paper

Grading:
            1 credit, pass/fail
            To pass, attendance at initial class meeting and 2 discussion meetings (in HH 027), plus six reaction papers and one course reflection which meet the standards set forth in the assignments.
            End of Term Summary Paper

            Lack of compliance with these requirements will yield a failing grade.
