Current interests and projects

• I am currently writing a book on history in film, which explores the use of moving images as a historical resource.  This book will be published in 2008.
• On the "back burner" is a comparative study of the U.S., British and French press during the period between the two world wars, with specific reference to the handling of the German problem.  The book will examine how the press, the government and the public interacted to address an external threat in three different democratic societies, taking into consideration the nature of the threat for each as well as the cultural differences among them.
