For Your Application Paper (Due May 7), you need to find and discuss at least 1 academic article (out of 2 total -- 1 can be popular press).
Here are some sociology & related journals (nearly all of which we have hard copies of in the library; see current periodicals area [alpha. listed / shelved there]): Social Forces, American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Problems, Social Science Quarterly, Sociological Quarterly, Sociological Perspectives, Signs (gender), Sex Roles, Law and Society, Crime and Delinquency, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Journal of Social Issues, International Social Science Journal, Social Science Journal, Journal of Marriage and the Family, Policy and Practice of Public Human Services, Journal of Sociology and Social Work, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Science and Medicine, NACLA report on the Americas, American Journal of Economic and Sociology.
Also, you can use the on-line part of library article databases, especially, JSTOR (listed under "Social Sciences & Humanities" of article resources page on SU library web site (http://www.salisbury.edu/library/articles.html). You can do key word searches there and retrieve full-text articles — but not in the most recent 2-3 years (so articles are sometimes a bit older, but that is OK).
For Popular press article (you can use 1) can be obtained from many different web sites or hard copies of articles. The best library database for such is "Lexis-Nexis Academic" under 'General - Multidisciplinary" section of article search page of library web site
