Choose your own New York adventure on this day-long trip to the “Big Apple.”

In order to make this count as a French culture activity, visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Guggenheim Museum to see the French Impressionist paintings in person. You may wish to take an online tour to prepare yourself for the experience. Salisbury Symphony Orchestra’s VIVE LA FRANCE! (C)

Holloway Hall Auditorium, 7:30p.m.

Featuring Sarah Jackson; Principal Piccolo, Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Scheduled pieces include: the Chaminade Concertino for flute and orchestra, a piece by Damare for piccolo and orchestra, one other French overture, and the 2nd Symphony of St. Saens, the "organ" Symphony (featured in the movie "Babe").

Jackson has held the position of piccolo for the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2003. For 10 years, she was assistant principal flute and piccolo with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. She is also an active chamber musician, soloist, clinician & freelance artist, & she has played for numerous films, CD recordings, & TV & radio broadcasts. The pediatrician Alexandre Beck misses his beloved wife Margot Beck, who was brutally murdered eight years ago when he was the prime suspect. When two bodies are found near where the corpse of Margot was dumped, the police reopen the case and Alex becomes suspect again. The mystery increases when Alex receives an e-mail showing Margot older and alive.

Bus Trip: Cherry Blossom Festival Washington, D.C.

NATIONAL CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL PARADE (C)

Featuring the Sakuri Matsuri -Japanese Street Festival in Washington, D.C.

Marking the 99th celebration of the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C., the parade begins at 10 a.m. The street festival (11 a.m.-6 p.m.) is family friendly: Japanese food & vendors, live Japanese music, dance & martial arts demonstrations. SU Students, Faculty, Staff & Alumni: $25 (sign-up begins March 4) • Community Reservations: $35 (sign-up begins March 18).
