Setup Information
The Setup tab has the header information, office location, start and end times for
the schedule card, some display options, and the height and width for the printed card.
- Heading - The heading has three parts, a left, center and right. Simply type in what you
want displayed in each of these parts. As you change the contents you should see the edits in the header
portion of the schedule card.
- Office Number - This is simply your office number that will appear in the office hours items
in the schedule. If any office hours are currently in the schedule you will see these change as you change
the office number.
- Start & End Times - These are the starting and ending times for the schedule card. Note that
if a schedule item is not completely contained inside the starting and ending times it will not appear on the
schedule card.
- Include / View Options - There are three options here. The first, Include Heading, indicates
if a header is displayed or not. The second, Include / View Tentative Items, indicates if any tentative
items are displayed on the card. In the schedule items tab you have the option of marking an item as
tentative. If you have an item marked as tentative and this option is not checked those items will not
appear on the schedule card. The third option, Allow Time Conflicts, allows two or more schedule items
to have overlapping times. If this item is not checked the program will make sure that there are no
time conflicts in your schedule. If you allow time conflicts and you have two overlapping items in the
schedule lists the conflicting items will appear in red.
- Schedule Card Size - This is for printing only. This allows you to set the height and
width of the printed schedule card, these values are in inches. The buttons directly after the height
and width are the auto-resize buttons that will use the current dimensions of the image and the
value of the other dimension to set the requested dimension. These are only needed if the auto-scaling
is turned off.
There are also three auto-scaling options below the height and width text boxes. The first, Automatically
Scale Height, will change the height value to match the current width and aspect ratio of the image. The second,
Automatically Scale Width, will change the width value to match the current height and aspect ratio of the image.
The third, No Scaling, turns off any auto-scaling.
Auto-scaling will update anytime a dimension is changed or the image is resized.
Note that the program has a feature that allows you to load in header, class and office hour information
from the Academic Scheduler file that is used to create an entire schedule. You do not need to use this
option but if you do it will automatically set the card header and office information, as well as classes
and office hours.
To load in the schedule information select File > Load Master Schedule File Contents... from the menu
or click on the corresponding toolbar button, the big red A. When you do, a file open dialog box
will appear for you to select the file to use. Once you select the file another dialog box will appear
for you to select yourself from the list of faculty. Select your name and what information you want
to load in and click on OK.
