The Schedule Items tab contains lists of items that will appear on the schedule card. It is broken up into three lists, classes, office hours and other activities. Each list has an identical toolbar. The first option is to input a new schedule item of the corresponding type. Each of these have different options and we will discuss each of them further below. The second option is for editing a current schedule item, the one selected. You can also edit a schedule item by double-clicking on it. The third option is to delete the currently selected schedule item and the final option is to toggle a schedule item from tentative to not tentative. Schedule items will appear in the lists in black. If there is a time conflict the item will appear in red and if the item is marked as tentative it will be in italics.
You must input a Course and give the course rooms and times. The subtitle and tentative settings are optional. Note that the course and subtitle should be short since these are being placed into a relatively small box on the schedule card.
To give the course rooms and times simply select the new tool in the rooms and times frame. At this point a time slot dialog box will appear. Input the room the class is in as well as the days of the week and the beginning and ending times of the class. Note that if your class meets in two different rooms you will need to create two time slots for it. For example, if your class meets in room 115 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and in 150 on Tuesday then you should create one time slot for the 115 meetings and another for the 150 meetings. Also note that the beginning and ending times are on a 24 hour clock. So if your class starts at 1:00 PM then your begin time should be 13.
Once the times and title information is in (as in the image below) simply click on the OK button and the course will be added to the list of classes and the new class will appear on the schedule card.
Note that the program has a feature that allows you to load in header, class and office hour information from the Academic Scheduler file that is used to create an entire schedule. You do not need to use this option but if you do it will automatically set the card header and office information, as well as classes and office hours.
To load in the schedule information select File > Load Master Schedule File Contents... from the menu or click on the corresponding toolbar button, the big red A. When you do, a file open dialog box will appear for you to select the file to use. Once you select the file another dialog box will appear for you to select yourself from the list of faculty. Select your name and what information you want to load in and click on OK.
