K-12 Outreach:

  1. Co-presented (with Jenn Bergner) a workshop entitled Number Talks, August 15-16 2017. This was a follow-up to Ruth Parker’s workshop with the same cohort of public schools teachers.
  2. ESMC grant capstone workshop entitled Final Thoughts on Number Talks, September 23 2017. This was co-presented with Jenn Bergner and the final event to close out the ESMC grant.
  3. Open Ended Problems – workshop offered in two session for the Worcester County Professional Development Day. Worked with middle and high school teachers. April 13 2017.
  4. ESMC - Content workshop (Feb. 6 2016) – Saturday full day mathematics workshop, co-delivered with Jenn Bergner.
  5. ESMC - Summer Workshop: June 27-30 and July 6-9 2016. This was co-presented with Jenn Bergner and we met for 8 full days. We designed and presented all activities for the teacher participants and differentiated by grade level many of the activities. The focus was on equations, expressions, and operations base 10.
  6. Task Writing Workshops - facilitated (with Dr.’s Randall Groth, Melissa Stoner, and Jennifer Bergner) three-hour Task Writing Workshop for the Wicomico County School District middle and high school mathematics teachers (Jan. 30, March 12, Nov. 19 2016).
  7. Some Big Ideas with Regard to Rational Numbers II, April 18, 2015. Delivered with Jenn Bergner as part of the Eastern Shore Consortium/Math Partnership Grant Program serving math teachers from five Maryland counties.

  9. MSP one-week Capstone Workshop. With Jenn Bergner. Focused on the connections between algebra, geometry, probability, and statistics. June 20, 21 ,25, 26, 27 2012. This workshop was the culminating activity for this grant which ran continuously since 2006.
