E-Vising: Planning Your Semester

When you have items one through three from the previous page, sit down and figure out what courses you would like to take next semester.  When you are developing your schedule for next semester, keep the following things in mind:

1) make sure that there are no time conflicts among your classes

2) make sure that you have fulfilled the prerequisites for the classes you wish to take

3) make sure that your class schedule works with your 'life schedule' (for example, if you are playing a sport next semester then you may not want to take 18 credit hours).

To find out what classes are available next semester, us GullNet, and use the ENVR list.  As we do every seemster, Mr. Nelson has sent out an e-mail with a list of all the core and elective courses being offered for ENVR - use that list! But you will also need to look for courses that will fulfill minor, gen ed, and pure elective slots as well.

Once you have finished working on items one through three above, and have checked the courses you want against the available classes for next semester, you are probably in one of the following situations:

  • 1) you have a completely finalized schedule that works perfectly (if so, fill out the Program Planning Worksheet),

  • 2) you have a mostly finalized schedule but have a few minor questions (if so, fill out the Program Planning Worksheet with your preliminary proposed schedule),

  • 3) you are having some trouble getting started or you have a number of important questions (if so, let's get those answered first-- email me at mllewis@salisbury.edu

  • and we will get your question(s) answered right away).

How do you fill out the Program Planning Worksheet? You may use the attached document.  Make sure to save your work when you're done -- you will need to submit this file to me by email.

OK -- are you ready?  Then go to the next page.  You will be asked to submit your Program Planning Worksheet and pick a time for your advising appointment.
